Mind Space – mental health strategy

At Graeme High we are very proud of our mental health strategy, MindSpace, which is in place to support our pupils’ mental health and wellbeing. This strategy was developed through extensive engagement with pupils, staff, parents/carers and external agencies.

We are now well placed to be able to support your positive mental health and wellbeing through assemblies and extended house periods. On top of this, we also have a MindSpace channel on your year group Team, where you will find regular posts, updates and supports to help you manage your own mental health and wellbeing.

We also have a number of dedicated supports available to you:

Go2s

A number of staff have been trained as ‘Go2s’ – someone who will offer a listening ear if you need someone to talk to. Go2s can be identified through green door signs, lanyards, badges and t-shirts bearing the ‘MindSpace’ logo, and they are spread across all departments in the school. Many of these staff are also trained in Mental Health First Aid. Find one if you ever need to talk. Below you will find a list of all the Go2s in the school.

Wellbeing Assistant
Grace, our Wellbeing Assistant, is available to support you in various ways. She offers drop-in sessions as well as on-to-one and group session organised via your DHH or DHT. Grace is currently focusing on drawing and talking therapies to support your mental health and wellbeing. You can find Grace’s Go2 Hub at the end of the business/computing corridor.

School Counsellor

We have a dedicated counselling service available in the school – speak to your DHH to find out more about this.
