Say hello to our Houses...

All pupils are part of a House family in Graeme High School.

House Support

Every pupil is placed into one of four Houses in Graeme High.  The House structure is important as it determines whish staff work to support pupils.

The four Houses are –

Lockhart House

Morrison House

Steele House

Thomson House

The House system is provides a support network for your pupils.  Pupils are supported by the same House team throughout their time at Graeme High School.

The House teams also compete to win various House Trophies and competitions as well as supporting our House charities.

House team have two core members in the Depute Head of House (DHH) and Depute Head Teacher (DHT) who have an overview of the House and all pupils within it.

Depute Head of House (Named Person)

Lockhart - Mrs Dunning

Morrison – Mrs Faill

Steele – Mrs Buchanan

Thomson – Mrs Ballantyne

Each DHH has an overview of pupils and it the main point of contact within the school for -

    • academic performance
    • personal issues
    • social and emotional issues
    • attendance

Their role involves providing a liaison between the home and the school to ensure that pupils are provided with everything they need to reach their potential.  DHHs teach pupils PSE (Personal and Social Education) in S1, S3, S4, S5 and S6  to have a weekly contact with them and to support key points of their journey through school.

Head of House

Each house has a linked Depute Head Teacher who is Head of House.
