Health and Wellbeing
Through our established structures, all students receive support from their class teachers, support staff and senior students. In addition, our House Team, comprising of House tutors, Faculty Head House, Depute Head of House, who is their named person, and their link Depute Head Teacher all provide a framework of support around each student. We also have our Campus Based Police Officer who works with all students.
Every student receives a number of opportunities that link to the Health and Wellbeing experiences and outcomes throughout the year as part of House Assemblies and in extended House class time. Various activities and sessions are run to support the school values, GIRFEC, Nurture, Rights Respecting Schools, Global Citizenship, associated charities and local community.
Beyond the classroom
Graeme High School offers a wide variety of clubs and extracurricular activities which looks to develop values, skills and abilities out with the classroom setting. Clubs such as English as Additional Language and Gay Straight Alliance offer support to particular groups but are open to all. Moreover, there are opportunities through school sporting teams, school show, musical performances and drama performances. Furthermore, our Leadership Academy, School Councils and Senior Pupil Leadership opportunities, give our students further opportunity to develop their leadership capacity as well as giving them a voice in the improvement priorities of the school.

Core Health and Wellbeing
Students receive support in the development of their health and wellbeing through designated classes such as H.E., P.E and PSE covering topics which look to develop values and attitudes that inform our students and support them to make positive choices now and into their adult life. Key topics are planning and choices, food and exercise, drugs, violence, sexual health, mental health and emotional wellbeing. Furthermore, as part of their entitlement, health and wellbeing education is delivered through subject areas at times where it both supports and enhances the learning experience of students. We also have an established MVP programme where senior pupils deliver lessons to S1 and S2 students, which offers a dual student learning experience.
Senior options
Senior pupils in S5 and S6 get the opportunity to identify their own Health and Wellbeing needs. As part of the Senior Health and Wellbeing programme, pupils get the opportunity to select programmes of work to undertake that are based around, mental health, physical health, citizenship, skills for life and positive transitions.
