Supporting all students to maximise their potential
Within Graeme High School community, we endeavour to provide excellent personal support for all students. Our school recognises and celebrates differences, within a culture of respect and fairness, and we aim to meet the needs of every child in line with the principles of GIRFEC.
As part of this, we recognise the need to work with staff, students and families to promote and support these groups to ensure we have an inclusive community in which we support each other independent of disability, learning needs, age, gender, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, pregnancy and maternity, family background, deprivation or sexual orientation.
For all students, we do this through universal support.
Universal Support
Support for all pupils
Universal support is offered to our students through a committed team of staff, who regularly speak to students regarding not only their learning, but any other concerns that students may arise. Indeed within our school we have a team around the child consisting of teaching staff, House tutors, and support staff, additional support needs staff and House teams each consisting of a Depute Head Teacher, Depute Head House, 2 Faculty Heads (House). In addition, we also have Go2 staff who are specifically there to support pupil’s mental health.
