Like most other secondary schools in the area we are aiming to become a cashless school.  There are various reasons for this including equality and security but ultimately this ensures that all pupils are able to be served at the canteen as quickly as possible by swiping their card as the payment method – I’m sure you can imagine how dealing with cash slows the process down dramatically.  Please find attached a letter advising of a new online payment system we will be launching for August. 

To set up your account with this system you will require an email address.  Please also ensure that the school have a note of your current email address so that you do not miss out on important information.

When pupils join us in S1 they are provided with a card free of charge.  This card can be topped up online by the parent/carer negating the need for your child to bring any cash to school.  There are however machines located in the canteen and social space where pupils may use cash to top up these cards. 

At present we have a large number of pupils who are not using their card.  Can I please ask that all pupils check at home for lost cards and if these cannot be found replacement cards can be obtained from Mrs Mathieson in the canteen for £2.00.  If this poses any problems please contact your child’s Depute Head of House.
