FDAMH online sessions

FDAMH are running a series of online sessions for Parents/Carers of our pupils on a variety of topics. These will run monthly on the dates shown below, along with the name of the session.

These courses offer specific learning opportunities in topics that support personal well-being, help build resilience, self-esteem and promote regular self-care.

Topics include:

  • Managing Exam Anxiety: anxiety surrounding exams is perfectly normal but managing this effectively can prevent pupils becoming overwhelmed at this time.
  • Recognising common mental health conditions: An overview of common mental health conditions.
  • Building Resilience and Positive Self-care Techniques: there are many reasons for young people experiencing negative thinking and reduced self-esteem but this short information sessions looks at ways to bolster their confidence and begin to regain their self-belief.
  • Stepping Out of the Drama Triangle and Responding Within Challenging Conversations: This session focusses on preventing the cycle of repeated arguments and confrontation and looks at ways to change our responses and emotional reactions to challenging conversations.
  • Understanding Change and Loss: Change and transition can be difficult for children and young adults, but never more so than now and this information session helps us understand the emotions and processes involved in coping with change and how best to manage this difficult process.
