The young S1 team, playing Alva Academy, overcame their visitors by 4 goals to 3 courtesy of two scores apiece from Reece McArthur and Scott
Robertson.

Target Points
Over the past week staff awarded a total of 5888 target points. This week brings the third in a series of weekly focus issues. This week the focus is ‘Ready to Work’. Pupils could demonstrate this by arriving to class quickly, settling quickly and readying themselves for work by producing the necessary equipment. Target points could be awarded at the start of the lesson and could serve as an opportunity to get off to a positive start. These target points should be additional to those awarded as regular at the end of the lesson. The objective of the target rewards scheme is of course to reward pupils. This week also brings the announcement of a Christmas reward trip. 24 pupils will be rewarded with a trip to Xtreme Karting in Larbert on the second last day of term. The participants will be selected on the back of their total accumulated target points and lack of behaviour referrals.

Inter-House Fun Run
Tomorrow is time to get your running shoes and fancy dress costumes on for this year's inter-house fun run! The 1-mile run will take place tomorrow and is open to staff and pupils. Participants will run a mile around the rugby pitch for house points. There will be points for participation, race winners and extra points will be given for those in fancy dress. As it is stiill close to Halloween that part should be easy! Form classes will have been visited to encourage pupils to sign up for the event.

Central Schools Swimming Championships
Congratulations to all pupils who competed on Saturday at the Central Schools Swimming Championships. Graeme High School won various medals at the event but were joint winners with Dollar Academy for 'Best overall Secondary School'. A fantastic achievement!

Falkirk Schools Swimming Championships
This is a new event this year, open to club and non club swimmers from S1-6. The event will take place at Grangemouth Sports Complex on Friday 11th December 9.30-3.00pm. Any pupil who would like to be considered for this event should add their name to the sheet outside the PE base by the end of this week. Having just won the best overall school in the central championship it would be in our best interests to have a full support for this event too.

Creative Futures - Day of Dance
Any pupil in S4-S6 who may be considering a career, or has an interest, in the field of dance is asked to see Mrs Whittington (P.E.) for more information on the possibility of being considered for hands on workshops.
