Photographs Thank you to all pupils who made that extra effort to appear in full uniform for the photo-taking opportunity on Wednesday. The senior group photos will look very good and it is expected that a number of parents will be very pleased with the individual photos which should arrive in school sometime next week.
'Graeme High Has Talent' Never mind Britain's Got Talent! Pupils are invited to come and try out for Graeme’s very own version of the popular talent contest. Auditions will be held at lunchtime starting on Thursday next week. It is possible to sign up for an audition with the Prefects in the Social Space at lunchtime. Successful acts will compete in our Graeme High Has Got Talent show in November. Remember this is a variety talent contest not just a singing competition!
Football Mr Paton’s Senior Boys’ football team saw their interest in the Scottish Cup competition disappear at the hands of Bannerman High School last week. Despite scores by Rohan Hamilton and Jamie Colson, the Glasgow side went on to win by three goals to two.
S3 Interim Reports These reports were given to pupils on Friday 23rd October. If any S3 pupils was absent, the office will have arranged to have it posted home.
S4 Parents Evening The S4 Parents' Evening will take place on Monday 9th November. Pupils have been issued with a letter and appointment card and this will allow all S4 pupils to get appointment times. The Work Experience programme begins next week so pupils will require to have made their arrangements in advance.
S4 Study Skills All S4 pupils will be given one double period of study skills during the work experience weeks. This is a very valuable class which will help you prepare for your prelims and SQA exams.
Earning Extra Target Points After the October Holiday week, pupils were reminded of the Target rewards scheme. Last week, teaching staff awarded target points to pupils who are on time for classes especially after interval and after lunch. This week extra TARGET points will be awarded to pupils who arrive perfectly turned out in uniform. Make sure you have your tie done up properly and clearly visible. Regular points in can still be earned in class for giving your best, coming equipped, and displaying a positive attitude.
Thank You from the Amnesty Group A big thank you to everyone who was involved in 'Protect the Human Week'. The thanks of the group go to everyone who bought a cake/pencil/badge, signed a petition, drew a handprint, bought a lollipop or made a poster. The total amount raised will be announced later in the week and the Amnesty Group were to judge the collages on Wednesday. The winners will be announced soon after.
Class Rep Training Training for Class Representatives is scheduled to take place this week. Times scheduled are: Lockhart – Tuesday 27th October period 5 in Conference room 1; Morrison – Thursday 29th October period 5 in Room 102; Steele – Friday 30th October Period 3 in Conference Room 1.
Breast Cancer Awareness Tomorrow, Friday 30th October), is 'Wear Pink' day. We are looking to raise money to help support families living with cancer. This year pupils can support a breast cancer charity by adding a touch of pink to your uniform. £1 will be collected during form period to go to charity. Pupils please note - IT IS NOT A NON-UNIFORM DAY. There will also be an opportunity for you to spend your money at a cake sale at morning interval and lunch time in the social space.
